PayScope is a free paycheck-estimation project built to make gross pay, taxes and take-home pay easier to understand.
What we publish
We build interactive paycheck calculators and plain-English salary guides for U.S. employees. Every supported location states what is included, what is excluded and which tax year the estimate uses.
Who maintains the site
Calculations, source reviews, tests and explanatory content are maintained by the PayScope Editorial Team. PayScope is an independent project and is not affiliated with the IRS, a state tax agency or a payroll provider.
How estimates are reviewed
- Tax-year constants are checked against linked IRS and state-agency publications.
- Automated fixtures test supported filing statuses, salary levels, states and pay frequencies.
- Pages identify material exclusions such as credits, benefits and unsupported local taxes.
- Meaningful source or calculation changes receive a new review date.
Editorial principles
We favor useful explanations over keyword repetition, publish only calculator coverage we can explain, and avoid presenting estimates as tax or payroll advice. Advertising does not determine calculation results or editorial conclusions.
Privacy and funding
Calculator inputs are processed on your device and are not sent to PayScope. The site may use consent-based analytics and advertising to understand general usage and support operating costs. You can continue without analytics or ads.
