Hourly paycheck questions
Answers before you calculate.
How does the hourly paycheck calculator work?
Enter an hourly wage and PayScope annualizes it using 2,080 hours per year. It then estimates federal income tax, Social Security, Medicare and optional traditional 401(k) contributions.
How many work hours does the estimate use?
The hourly-to-salary conversion assumes 40 hours per week for 52 weeks, or 2,080 hours per year. Unpaid time off changes the real annual amount.
Can I see weekly and biweekly take-home pay?
Yes. The result can be viewed as annual, monthly, biweekly or weekly net pay after the deductions included in the estimate.
Does the calculator include overtime pay?
Yes. Open Bonus, overtime & 401(k), then add expected overtime hours per week. PayScope estimates those hours at 1.5 times the hourly rate for 52 weeks.
